Foil Insulation

Attic Foil Insulation Installation in California

Are your energy bills higher than normal? Is the second story of your home unusually warm? You may need more attic insulation.

An attic radiant barrier can help keep your home cooler and more comfortable. Since the surface of your roof is the most exposed portion of the house to the sun, radiant heat from the sun is transmitted into the attic during the day—which can increase temperatures up to 100+ degrees and hinder the performance of insulation. But with radiant barrier insulation (especially low-E materials), you can limit the amount of heat that leaks in. Using radiant barrier in conjunction with standard attic insulation is an effective way to help eliminate heat infiltration.

If you’re in the San Diego or Los Angeles area, OJ Insulation can install the right attic insulation to help you save money and live more comfortably. Call us today for an attic foil insulation consultation and estimate at 800-707-9278 or contact us online to learn more!

Low-E

LOW-E Reflective Insulation is a top-selling reflective insulation across the country. Consisting of a polyethylene foam core with scrim-reinforced, double-sided aluminum facings, LOW-E foil insulation can be used in all parts of the building industry where traditional insulation materials are used—and it can be installed by itself or in conjunction with mass insulation products for a higher R-value. From large commercial buildings to homes, LOW-E foil insulation can be used to reduce heating and cooling costs for any type of project. It:

  • Helps you save money and increase energy efficiency
  • Blocks the majority of radiant heat
  • Offers high thermal performance
  • Has an excellent vapor barrier
  • Can be installed easily with razor knife and foil tape
  • Can help reduce condensation and moisture infiltration
  • Helps improve the performance of other insulation systems

Silver Shield

Fi-Foil’s Silver Shield insulation product has multiple layers materials with low emissivity. These low-E materials are designed to reduce radiant heat transfer, helping keep your space cooler and more comfortable and reduce energy costs.

The inside layer is a metalized polymer, the outside layer reinforced aluminum foil kraft paper bonded with a fire-retardant adhesive. The layers expand when installed to form a reflective air space to provide enhanced thermal performance and protect the low-E surface from dust buildup (which can decrease its effectiveness). Silver Shield foil insulation:

  • Helps save you money
  • Offers effective performance
  • Can significantly reduce attic temperatures during the warmest months
  • Can help improve duct and insulation performance
  • May enable you to qualify for credits under various green building certification programs
